Lancaster Rotary invites applications for fourth annual grant program.
Thanks to a generous bequest from the late Lon Edwards, a Lancaster resident, Lancaster Rotary Club announces its fourth year of grant-making from the income generated from this fund. The Club expects to make up to $25,000 of grants to worthy tax-exempt organizations, governments, and religious organizations.
Grant recipients from the first three years’ grant programs included Whitefield Public Library, Granite Guild in Groveton, White Mountains Regional High School, Groveton High School, Lancaster Police Department, Town of Lunenburg, Heartwood Public Charter School, Colonel Town Players, Taproot, Whitefield Public Library, Quilts of Valor, and Stratford School, among others.
Applicants may submit online applications, starting now, through May 16, 2025. Applications will be evaluated, and awards determined, by a committee of Rotarians with final announcement of grantees by June 30, 2025. Grant funds will be disbursed in July. At Lancaster Rotary’s discretion, some grants may be paid out as project funds are expended.
Qualifying applicants should outline proposals that help our communities in a tangible or measurable way, with special consideration to projects that align with Rotary International’s seven areas of focus:
- Supporting education
- Growing local economies
- Protecting the environment
- Fighting disease
- Promoting peace
- Providing clean water
- Saving mothers and children
Organizations seeking grants should describe the goals and expected outcomes of the proposed project, provide a detailed implementation plan and project budget, and comment about how the initiative will be sustained in future years in the absence of additional grant funding. The primary focus in awarding grants will be on specific projects rather than ongoing operations.
